We love this holiday twist on a summer favorite. It is special to share a pitcher of sangria with great friends during your cabin trip. This refreshing apple cider sangria is an excellent option for brunch or dinner. and makes a great cocktail to enjoy while sitting around the campfire. We particularly enjoy making this beverage for Thanksgiving since it incorporates our favorite Autumn flavors. Add a bit of lemon juice or a sprinkle of lemon zest.
The key components needed for this cocktail are apple cider, cinnamon sticks, and white wine like a Pinot Grigio. One of the best parts of making sangria is that the recipe is completely customizable. Thus, you can substitute whiskey with your preferred spirit or opt to leave it out altogether. While the fruit you include may vary, we recommend incorporating sliced apples, oranges, and pears.
No cocktail shaker needed.
Eggnog is a classic winter-inspired boozy drink. It features bourbon, egg yolks, heavy cream, milk, and tons of cinnamon. If bourbon is not your thing, rum makes an excellent substitute. Many supermarkets and liquor stores sell eggnog, but we highly recommend making your own if you can gather the supplies.
This weekend relaxer has been around since the early 1600s, and it is easy to see why. It is super delicious and may even aid cold symptoms! The cocktail is traditionally made with honey, lemon juice, hot water, and quality bourbon. Combine your ingredients in tempered glass with a cinnamon stick inside. Feel free to add another fruit juice, such as orange, if you would like the beverage to be a little less potent. You may garnish this cocktail with a lemon wedge.
Making mulled wine is essential for spending a weekend at the cabin. This beverage not only tastes yummy but causes the kitchen to smell out of this world. Simmer red wine in a pot with cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and orange slices to make mulled wine. Add brandy and a sweetener (honey or maple syrup) to the pot. This step should only take a few minutes as you only want the flavors to combine and warm up. Lastly, serve into individual cups to garnish with an orange slice and cinnamon stick.
This easy-to-make spiked hot cocoa is perfect for cozy nights in the cabin watching holiday movies. It is incredibly delicious and festive, making it an ideal addition to your winter cocktail must-haves. To make a Peppermint Patty cocktail, brew your favorite hot chocolate recipe. We recommend making a homemade version, but store-bought varieties work as well. You will then add chocolate liquor and peppermint schnapps to your mug. Garnish with a festive candy cane, which can double as a stirrer for the drink.
Margaritas are many people's go-to cocktails year-round. This delicious drink is a festive twist on the traditional recipe calls for Blanco tequila, triple sec, lime juice, pomegranate juice, and fresh pomegranate seeds. Adding the fruit allows the cocktail to be much sweeter than classic lime margaritas. Plus, pomegranates are in season throughout the fall and winter, making them easy to find at the grocery store We like to serve ours in a highball glass.
Would a camping trip be complete without s'mores? Although, since you are staying in a cabin - why not turn your favorite campfire treat into a cocktail? A s’mores martini is crafted with chocolate liqueur, marshmallow vodka, and heavy cream.
